Hi, I'm Rob. I like making ideas happen.
I love to get the ball rolling, execute on good ideas and develop strong concepts that lead to great results. I specialize in digital solutions, particularly, Product Management, Search Engine Optimization and Front-End Development.
If I'm not helping build the interwebs, I'm either chasing my two little girls, playing guitar, or playing a game of footy.
Search Engine Optimization84%
I currently work for Deseret Digital Media in Salt Lake City, Utah as a Product Director for Ok.com and the Family Media Guide. I have also worked with other product and development teams such as DeseretNews.com, KSL.com, DeseretBook.com and ReadToday.com. My areas of strength give me an in-depth understanding of product development, with all of its intricacies and challenges. That includes maintaining expectations, delivering on-time and staying within budget.
I also seem to get along with almost anyone, and that really helps :)
I'm also handy with front-end development, and always seek to stay current with best practices and technology. I'm currently obsessed with developing responsive web design, (go ahead resize your browser) delivering an optimized view for all devices.
Web apps are also on the hot list for me right now as HTML5 opens so many new and exciting capabilities that smart phone users can take full advantage of.

I appreciate and crave great design. Although I'm not a designer by trade, I do have a good understanding of the Adobe Suite and have done a variety of design jobs in my past, including corporate identity, sales materials, pamphlet, booklet, website and advertising design for both digital and print. The good folk at Highstreet Advertising made me a print nerd. Now I check the DPI on every print job with a magnifying glass :)
Search Engine Optimization
I started Search Engine Optimization in 2001 for a web marketing company in the UK. I have had the opportunity to play an important role in the optimization of several large news and eCommerce websites such as:
- DeseretNews.com (2010 - 2011 - 147% increase in SERP referrals)
- DeseretBook.com (2010 - 23% increase in revenue from Organic)
- KSL.com (2011 - 5x growth on specific key terms)
